The official philanthropy of Sigma Alpha Omega® is the Ovarian Cancer Awareness. 

 

Facts about Ovarian Cancer:

 

 

• Every year 20,000 women will be diagnosed.

• Every year 15,000 lives will be taken. 

• A woman’s risk of getting ovarian cancer is about 1 in 67. 

   

• It is the 5th leading cause of cancer-related death in women.

   

• Other than skin cancer, it is the 8th most common kind of cancer in women.

• The survival rate rises to 93% if it is diagnosed at an early stage.
